8. Accessibility Service Usage
iSafe uses Android's AccessibilityService API solely to detect volume button
presses when the Accessibility Service has been explicitly enabled by the user.
This functionality is designed to help users quickly trigger emergency alerts
during critical situations.
When a configured volume button press is detected, iSafe may send an emergency
alert to the control panel, share the user's current location with authorized
responders, and notify the user's selected emergency contacts.
Important Information:
-
Accessibility Service must be manually enabled by the user through the
device's Accessibility Settings.
-
Volume button detection works only while the Accessibility Service is enabled.
-
The Accessibility Service is used exclusively for emergency alert activation
and is not used to monitor, collect, read, or record personal content,
messages, keystrokes, browsing activity, or other user interactions.
-
No personal data is collected or transmitted through Accessibility Service
beyond information required to process emergency alerts.
-
Users may disable the Accessibility Service at any time through
Settings > Accessibility.
-
This feature is intended strictly for emergency and personal safety purposes.
Your privacy is important to us. iSafe follows Google Play policies and
Android platform requirements governing the use of Accessibility Services.
